Pre-op tomorrow

It's just hit me now and I'm getting very nervous.I've been fine the last few weeks,I don't know why it's suddenly just hit.I think I've got my list of questions ready.can anyone think of anything else I should be asking?

1) How long will the surgery take

2) What all will be removed?

3) How long will I be in hospital?

4) How long will I be on bed rest?

5) How long for results of path to come back in?

6) What meds will I be on in hospital and at home?

7) Will you use a tummy binder on me? Will I need one?

8) My left ovary is being removed, how will I know if my right one is going to work post-op? If I experience hot flashes,how long will I endure meno symptoms before my ovary kicks back in?

9) Will I need any prep before surgery?

10) Can I lift my baby? If not, how much can I lift safely at 4 weeks,6 weeks?

11) Will my pubic area be shaved?

12) Will I have vaginal packing?


I've been through the drop down pages on the home page and got the relevant questions from there.Anyone thought of something they wished they asked after their pre-op?Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you've got it handled! We share the same surgery date, I'll be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way. My pre-op is Thursday. The only other things on my list of questions are: how does s/he (your doc) deal with pain control and who will be assisting in the surgery.

Good luck! Just think in a little over a week you'll be a new woman... and hopefully (eventually) feeling much better
