Any suggestions for clear liquid diet? (child mentioned)

I am starting my clear liquid diet tomorrow. I have to take care of my dd tomorrow all day and I need to keep my energy up. I need some ideas for the diet because my stomach is so nervous right now that nothing sounds good. All I can think about it sprite and water. I can not stomach broth. And, really don't want to do carbonation to much because of my pain and bloated feeling due to the fibroids. HELP!

Doing a liquid diet is a lot like when you have the flu

clear liquids -- like jello, chicken broth, ( I was told coffee and tesa fell into that catagory) , fruit juices, gelatin, fruit ice, popsicle without pulp, clear hard candy, sports drinks,

Are you supposed to avoid foods (liquids) that have red in them?

I just had a colonoscopy and had to avoid red and purple liquids. I don't think that same rule applies for a hyst.

I was drinking white grape juice, gatorade, and ginger ale. I had some lemon italian ices, too. Jello is good, also.

I think that coffee and tea are in the clear liquid category as long as you don't add milk or cream. Milk products are not considered "clear liquid."

Good luck!! You'll be through with this before you know it!!

I know you said not too much carbonation, but here's an idea that isn't too carbonated and gives you more of an illusion of "eating" on a clear diet...

Make "sparkle" jello! Take your favorite jello flavor, and dissolve it in 1/2 cup water. Then add 10 oz. of your favorite sparkling beverage.... club soda, Sprite, whatever. (Be careful...it will fizz up a bit!) Put it in the fridge, then stir gently after 1/2 hour. Let it set up another couple of hours, and it will be ready to eat. It will be slightly "thicker" than regular jello, and will have just a slight carbonation to it. It's really quite nice!
