what made you decided?

I was told July of 92 that I needed to have a hysterectomy. I was 30 and couldn't bring myself to do it... found every excuse I could while all the while talking about how bad I wanted it! Then in June of this year I started SUDDENLY having SEVERE pain on my right side. The dr thought it was my apendix and I almost had it out but they kept having to reschedual my appointment with the surgon. All the while the pain kept getting worse. The Dr. did all sorts of labwork on me with no results... I believe she thought it was all in my head! By July I was NOT functional and the pain was getting worse. The doc decided not to see me any more because she couldn't figure it out. She did one US and said that it was normal. The pain got better but I still felt really terrible and still NOT normal. I decided to go see the Dr. That had deliverd my DS. He said that I had a basketball sized tumor and a very high uterus and cervix. He said after all we had done the only option he saw was a SAH. So one week from today I will be having one! I can not wait!

what made you decided?

I decided because I had a vampire in my undies...

It kept sucking blood out of.. umm... there in massive amounts.

(sorry for the haloween visual) Blame it on the pain meds.

what made you decided?

there was just no more room inside me for the alien to grow, so it had to be removed. it was causing all kinds of problems and it was either it or my sanity. my sanity won. the alien is gone and it's so nice to know i'm on the mend.
all the best.

what made you decided?

A complex ovarian cyst was found on ultrasound, and the fibroids were taking over. I made the decision the day I heard about the cyst, and had surgery 4 weeks later.

what made you decided?

My enjoyment of life as I had known it had come to a screeching halt. I was tired of being cripped with pain all the time. I had constant gushing (it had progressed way beyond mere bleeding), excruciating pain and zero energy. I couldn't go anywhere other than work and home, couldn't do anything requiring energy or movement or (God forbid) be more than 2 minutes from a bathroom at any given point in time. I decided it was time for me to regain control of my life! Best decision I ever made! Now 7 weeks in, I am getting back to doing the things I love to do - I am again able to wander around town aimlessly exploring, can work all day and rock out all night, and I don't have the worry, the pain or the stress hanging over my head!!

what made you decided?

I got one because my uterus and bladder were trying to escape from their abdominal "prison." It was 6-8 months between first noticing "something was out of place" on occasion to 'major' prolapse.

what made you decided?

Unbearably heavy periods, anemia, and starting to have a lack of bladder control, not to mention feeling like I have to urinate all the time.

what made you decided?

I had heavy periods that would last most of the month. It would be really bad for about three days...then I would have spotting for three weeks. Ugh!

So, when I finally went to the Dr. and she said LSH was an option, I jumped at it! Haven't regretted it for a second!

what made you decided?

I've always had loooooong heavy periods, but steadily has gotten worse. After my last 2 DS (both over 10 lbs and yes delivered vaginally) I began having more pain and a shorter cycle. So bleeding for about 10 days or so at a time, then a week or so later, the fun began again. Heavy heavy heavy and large clots. Some days don't leave the house because in the BR every 45min to 1hr. Just want to be normal (well as close as possible)

what made you decided?

Five years watching my tummy grow, went from originally having 2 fibroids to having over 20 at time of surgery. It was scary, but I am so glad that I did it and it's over. Tomorrow I go back to work for the first time.
