pain with defecation, normal stools, GP has a theory

I'm having difficult defecating (sometimes I can go just fine, other times when I push I feel a dull intense pain that is centered deeper than my rectum, and nothing happen) and my GP did a rectal exam on me today to see if he could feel any sort of problem.

He discovered a painful lump (and boy, was that a fun discovery for ME.. not!) and his theory is that my vaginal vault incision is inflammed and is pressing into my colon. When feces try to get past the bump, it hurts.

He says that the only solution is time, as when the inflammation around my internal incision goes down, the lump will go away.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this sort of problem in their post-op time, and maybe had some suggestions as to how to get through it?

My stools, by the way, are completely normal. Very soft and plentiful. I am eating lots of fibre and drinking lots of water, and doing everything I can to avoid hard stools. So far, so good.

I too at about 2 weeks had very painful bowel movements. I even spotted bright red blood when I wiped. i spoke with the dr and they said everything is so close together that when you have a bowel movement it passes by all this disturbed tissue and can cause irritation.
Mine only last a day or two.

I had pain until about wk 6 or 7. Now at 8 wks I have had no more problems (finally). I thought I had scarred together or something. Anyway, just hang in there. It will "pass" soon.

Hang in there is right! For the first 3 weeks my bms were like delivering a child!Contraction like pain! It does start to lessen. Don't forget your bowels have been through alot too, moving around and such. Just keep the bowels working, that's most important right now. I gave up iron suppliments and started eating prunes! Do whatever it takes to not be constipated! With our swelly bellies it's the last thing we need!
