Pre-Op Exam - Very Upsetting

Tracy,

My doc already showed me pictures of some of the endo that is so bad he doesn't quite think he can get it all... it looks so scary! I never knew it could come back. I'm glad to hear about the sex drive being ok.... I was worried about it. I'll just close my eyes and hope for the best! Thanks.

Pre-Op Exam - Very Upsetting

My endo was staged very high. My gyn said it was one of the 5 worst cases he had ever seen. But he said he thinks he got it all. And HRT will be ok after a couple of weeks. Like someone said, if not he can go back in laproscopic and clean any more out. But I didn't know I had it in the first place, so I would probably not know if it came back.

hormones

Ask about testosterone cream. That is the sex drive drug, and no estrogen to feed the endo.

Hi Nancy

When my doc did my TAH-BSO he had found more active endo. He removed all that he could find in a Lap in sept. but apparently it came back. It was on the pelvic floor. He did remove what was there. But, there really is no guarantee that they have found every spot. It can hide anywhere. Also I had Adenomyosis. So when I went for my two week check up we discussed HRT. Between the two of us we decided that we would go with a BC pill, Orthro Tri-Cyclen. He says that if there is any there, it would be the best thing to use to supress it. I would actually like to try going with nothing and see how I do because so far I have been pretty good. I am planning on calling him and talking about it. So far I have had maybe two hot flashes and a couple of nights I have woke up starting to sweat, but not badly. But everyone is different. It is a tough decision. I just thought that I would tell you about my experience because you were wanting to know what others have done.

Endo and HRT

My doctor said six months without HRT to suppress any regrowth of the endometriosis. You can, however, ask about progresterone treatment , which helps with the hot flash issue, and there is a topical estrogen ring for vaginal dryness without the systemic effects. And in my case, the jury is still out on the libido issue but I think things are going to be OK. And progesterone can help with that too.

Good luck!

Pre-Op Exam - Very Upsetting

Hi everyone!

I also didnt know endo came back. My dr put me on hrt 3 days after surgery cause I was getting menopausal, (if thats a word)
otherwise he was going to wait a week stating estrogen would still be in my system for a week.

I went crazy!!!!!!

Everyone has different experience especially regarding hormones!

Otherwise my surgery very uneventful

I will have to check with dr about this endo coming back!!
