DiVinci "robot"

2-3 hours doesn't sound unreasonable, considering what they are doing. You don't want them to rush it, right? :-)

My doc said mine would take longer, cause of all they have to pull out. She said 2-3 hours.

I'm scheduled for davinchi on November 14. I'm actually happy I'm getting it done this way. Everything I've heard and read seems very positive! I also have a suspected cancer on my left overy. In my opinion the davinchi is the best way to go! Good luck! Hugs!

My breast reduction was 4ish hours, so I think 2-3 for this makes sense. I hope we are all happy and recover nicely!

I asked my Dr and he said roughly around 2-3 hrs, now if he runs into complications, tack on a bit more time.. as he said
if I get in there and there is scarring and things are a mess then I say Oh cr-- and get on with it...
he really is a riot
when I had the ablation done in April, he walks into pre -op and says ok lets go bbq that uterus
well darn it ,it didnt work so this is the outcome
but im fine with my decision

I too had the DaVinci Surgery, and comparing it to my friend who had abdominal 13 years before me, my surgery was a breeze. Recovery time is cut way down, although you still have to be careful for a few months. I was back to work in 2 weeks, and doing most of the normal things in 3. I even went for my first bike ride at 3 weeks. I was glad they recommended it for me, and knowing what I know now would definitely chose this option again if needed. I love to tell people that a robot did my surgery....even though I know a very skilled doctor was sitting behind a computer doing the REAL work. Good luck with your surgery....I can testify that it was not that bad.

I had Davinci on 8/29 and am so glad I choose that option. I was working from home at week two abs back to work at week three. You will feel good really quick but please remember to rest and take care of yourself. After returning to work at week three I started a fever and in week four was back in bed. After taking a week in bed I felt 100 percent better. I cannot believe eight weeks has gone so fast. Wishing you all the best of luck. You'll do great. HUGS!!!!
