bleeding post-op prolapse repair

Hi everyone,

My situation is a little unique to everyone else here. I did not have a hysterectomy, but was born with a severely underdeveloped uterus as well as no cervix. My ovaries both remain. (Mullerian Agenesis Syndrome) I am 22 years old and had a vaginal vault suspension April 14th 2011. I am doing much better than how I was doing in the hospital; however, I experience consistent bleeding everyday. I have spoken to my nurse a few times about this and she said many patients complain about bleeding post-op. I have never had any sort of vaginal bleeding (periods) and every time I see this, I get the jeebies. My nurse told me as long as I'm not in more pain than usual and I'm not soaking through a pad an hour, it is normal. I would just like to hear others' experiences with this. I started bleeding 6 days ago and it has not let up but it has also not gotten any worse. How long did bleeding last for anybody else? Is there anything I can do to help stop this? All I do is rest aside from the trips to the bathroom or the kitchen. I read a little about mesh erosion on this board and how do I know if I am experiencing that? The doctor used empathy mesh. He also made a vaginal incision as opposed to an abdominal incision. Any input would be helpful. Thank you all!
