Finally had my Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" last night

10 weeks of waiting, I must admit it felt so good to be in my husband's arms again. We had gotten to where we couldn't touch each other because we didn't want to cheat. Yes, we've been married for 25 years and are still madly attracted to each other -- so much so that we couldn't touch each other. I healed slowly and my doc asked us to wait. So wait we did.....

Not to be too TMI, but I know the comments of other sisters about their first night calmed my fears. So here goes. I must say re-introducing the concept of going "slow" was quite sexy. I was sore at first and then all was well except at the heat of the moment. We had to stop for a second. I did feel pain at the cuff. That's okay, though, we just went back to slow. But all in all, it wasn't bad. No bleeding at all.

I must say that I did enjoy sex before, or so I thought. I guess when you live with pain, it becomes normal. Now, I don't feel any pain, no aggravating burning feeling or the urgent feelings of my bladder hurting like it's full when it's not. All of this while trying to enjoy my intimate moments with my husband.

Wow! At 51 I might have a normal, comfortable sex life. Who knew???

Peace and continued wellness to you all.

Re: Finally had my Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" last night

I am glad you had a "good night". I love my new body. Sex for me is so much better!! I too had no pain or bleeding afterwards. My DH and I took it slow for the 1st few times making love. Now it is like I never had surgery when it come to that department.

Re: Finally had my Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" last night

DH and I had a similar experience. My recovery was like getting to know each other all over again, and our first time was just so special and wonderful. I had gotten to where I did not like sex much at all, but now its all good!

We have been married 26 years and were like newlyweds those first few months after being released! Now at 2 years post op we still have a healthy and active sex life.

Lotus51 - excellent! The first time or two will probably be hard (those of us who had kids vaginally will probably remember what the first time or two after childbirth were tricky), but if it's basically feeling pretty good, that's a good sign we'll "retrain."

Re: Finally had my Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" last night

@england77: we did not fool around before the big date. As my doc told us, "you will only have one hysterectomy in your life and one time to heal right. You have the rest of your life to get back to it. So what's your hurry?". So we took that advice and turned it into a positive and said, "it's ONLY 10 weeks.". It went by fast.

We planned lots of "date nights" and went to dinner and kind of got to know each other on a different level. How awesome is that?

Also reading about the cheaters on this site and the nightmare situations they went through that I read to my husband, we were happy to wait. Why mess up all your hard work to get better?
