Re: Best Wishes to our February 23 Princesses

I'm so scared...I thought I was ready for this but I'm MUCH more anxious than I thought I would be.
Today is my pre-op appointment with my doc. I have a list of questions a mile long!
I'm most worried about the possibility of being sent home with a catheter still in place. I had a HORRENDOUS experience as a young girl and the thought scares the heck out of me. UGH!
AND doc said he's just going to order an epidural as opposed to general anesthesia. I'm not sure I can be awake without completely losing it.

MADrisk try to stay calm, I know it is difficult right now. I'm glad you are going to see you doctor today. Ask him lots of questions about your concerns and maybe he can put your mind at ease. Did he tell you that he was sending you home with a catheter in, if not try not to stress. You will have to take things a day at a time you can do this, you are going to be ok. I'm thinking if you are just having an epidural he must feel that the surgery won't be to complicated, but I would still ask.

Sandra, THANK YOU!

I just got back from my pre-op doctor's visit and I feel MUCH better! He said I'm having a spinal (different from an epidural) and that they'll give me additional meds to help me relax enough that I won't be aware of what's going on in surgery. YAY!

Secondly, he said there's no way he would send me home with a catheter in place. YAY!!!

All is well, I am much more relaxed and ready to tackle this thing!

Thank you for the kind words of support! Much appreciated.

Re: Best Wishes to our February 23 Princesses

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and I just found out I can't do the laparoscopy with experimental morcellation bag. My options are old school morcellation bag or laparoscopy with mini-laparotomy......or cancel. I was soooo prepared and now am sooooo stressed.
