in pursuit of better health...is it out there?

Seems like forever ago that I started having health issues, although the worst of it was definitely 3 and a half years ago when I started dropping polyps...3 weeks later, I had polyps in my colon removed, the next spring I had cataract surgery in both eyes (and I was not even 50years old yet!!!) and then all h--- broke loose when I was found to have an enlarged uterus and fibroids that were growing instead of shrinking despite my onset of perimenopause..so...I had the full hysterectomy, in hopes of eliminating alot of issues. And while I should not complain as I had no complications in the surgery or in my recovery...I have got to say, I am trying SO hard to aggressively pursue better health and it feels like I am chasing jello through a screen door!!! I have been 3 months without any major complaints...am getting hormonally balanced...very few mild hot flashes...only mild headaches that actually go away with Tylenol after 20 minutes like a normal person...and generally good well being. Then, last week I got 3 major headaches in 2 days, my hands and feet keep swelling and itching and then last night I was woke up with a headache so severe it made me throw up and I could not go to work today. Called my gyno doc and was told after reviewing my records, my blood pressure has been climbing and he is concerned...so I went in for a BP check and was sent out for a blood work up...Does this ever end??? Will I EVER get to the place where I can claim good health...you know, when someone asks " how ya doin'" and I can honestly say...I feel wonderful!!!
I have to believe it is possible for me...anything less feels like a dooms day message...

Thanks, ladies for letting me vent...I feel better now

So sorry you are going through all this. I understand how you feel since I have had some health issues over the past few years also and was diagnosed with diabetes almost two years ago. However, I feel lucky that my numbers were not that high and I can control it by taking pills. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi ocalasweetthing,

I'm so sorry you're running into all these problems. I felt I could relate to what you're saying - I had a very extensive and complex history of health problems for 15 years. I did my best to be healthy, but FINALLY started feeling good - actually I feel great and I never thought it was possible.

My hope for you is that you find relief, too. It sounds like you're doing a great job of keeping in touch with your doctor and taking care of yourself when it would be easy to give up. Keep up the great work, and I hope you'll hang on to hope, too. I wish I had better advice for you.
