should I keep my cervix? 1 ovary?

Does anyone have any thoughts on keep ing their cervix? I have heard it can prevent bladder issues later and help retain "sexual satisfaction". I have never had abnormal paps, only messed up insides. Also I have Polycystic Ovarian Disease and have really only had pain from 1 ovary. I am concerned to lose all my natural hormones, so I am considering asking to keep the non painful ovary, but am concerned with rupturing cysts causing more adhesions. Then again, I would love to lose those PMS issues, so maybe lose both the ovaries? Any thoughts on this anyone.

I didn't have an option on keeping cervix, so it's gone. I did get to keep one ovary and am glad that I did. I have had a much easier time than my friends who have lost both ovaries. I know I will eventually go through menopause, but at 36 I don't have to face that yet. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think you should ask your doctor about bladder issues and sex issues rather than relyingon what you've heard. The information I've read does not find keeping the cervix of any benefit, but it's up to the patient.

I don't have PCOS but as far as I know it isn't treated by removing the ovaries. I think you'll have to ask your doc and maybe get another medical opinion.
