Length of surgery - how long in the OR?
I had a phone appt with the surgery nurse today, and I asked her this very question. She said it would take about 2 hours with another one hour in recovery. (This is for a TAH/BSO)

I had a TVH and was in the OR for about an hour. Then I was in recovery for about 4 hours!

Length of surgery - how long in the OR?
It totally depends on the type of hysterectomy (TAH vs. vaginal), whether you are having any other surgical work done, etc. Also depends on your surgeon.
I am having a TAH with one ovary out, and the surgeon told me about an hour or so for the actual surgery. Probably another hour in recovery.

Mine was 2 hours 10 min, w/FOUR hours in recovery. Bad bladder spasms or something awful.....

THank you all. I am going for a complete ovaries and all. I will be staying for 3-4 days. (told by doc) So i guess we can safely say 1-2 hours depending.
