HELP!!! Stitches poking out!

I had a LAVH 3 weeks ago and there is about an inch long suture coming out of my belly button. My incision is now oozing and is bleeding a little, it is very sore. Is this normal or something to worry about. Can I cut the suture down a little so it wont pull???

HELP!!! Stitches poking out!

Give your Dr. a call. When I had my lap. last Aug with my ablation I reacted to the sutures and spit it out so to speak. My belly button (an inny) would fill up with light yellow discharge, but it had no odor, and one little corner of the incison was slightly open. Seeing as we were leaving on vacation in about 3 days, I called for fear I was starting an infection. He put me on antibiotics as a precaution, and told me to clean it with Hydrogen peroxide. (Some Dr.'s will tell you not to use hydrgen peroxide.) Little pieces of suture would poke up and come out, but I never really pulled it or cut it.
If I looked down into the belly button I could see the suture in between the incision line.
I have been lucky this time and didn't have the same problem, so I don't know if he used a different brand of suture or what.
Any way better safe then sorry, give you doc a call. Let us know how you make out.

HELP!!! Stitches poking out!

Thank you, I talked to my dr and she said to cut the suture and put hydrogen peroxide on the incision. It just looks really gross.
