Conflicting info from doctors?

In December 2007 I had a TOT done by a urolgoist. I had no problems whatsoever after that. It was wonderful.

April 2008 I had my hyster and A & P repairs by a gyne.

I have been hospitalized twice since and have had several problems including a DVT and hematoma.

My urologist seems to think that when the gyne did the repair he tightened up TOT and now my bladder is three times the size and I am catheterized as I continue to have residual urine after voiding. I have a home nurse coming in twice a day to check my bladder and give me daily blood thinner injections.

I see both docs again in the next week but wonder what your thoughts are. I imagine I will have to have the TOT loosened???

I just wish this would all end. I was supposed to be back at work now but I am still in pain and cannot walk outside the house with this large DVT as the doc says it could dislodge and move to my lung which could be fatal. I am in a wheelchair when I am even strong enough to venture out.

Thanks for being there sisters. I would be lost without you all.

Hugs,
Tracy

I have been following your recovery, and im so sorry you are still havin pain and restrictions due to that blood clot. All thins heal with time. Im sure youll better soon.
I have had one thing after another over the last year and its very frustrating. I get upset thinking ill never get well.
I think having a positive attitude helps, and you certainly have one.

Ah Michelle,

Thanks so much for following my recovery! That is so kind of you. I am trying to stay positive like you but sometimes it just gets so frustrating as you know.

Thanks for your kind words and I hope each day gets brighter for you too.

Hi Creshaunda,

TOT stands for Transobturator. It is a sling/hammock that treats female stress urinary incontinence by placing a narrow strip of mesh in your body to support the urethra. The transobturator approach avoids the retropubic space, the area of loose connective tissue between the bladder, pubic bone and abdominal wall. With this approach, narrow mesh carriers are passed through an area near the groin at the obturator of the pubic bone. The mesh is then attached and pulled into place under the urethra.

Hope this helps. You may also hear it called the Monarc approach.

Thanks so much for your well wishes!

Hugs,
Tracy

((((Tracy)))),
I cannot imagine how frustrated you must be; but thank God for your positive outlook in spite of everything. I get irritated and grouchy just because I still get moderate pain, and swelly belly. You are an inspiration!
You are MORE than a trooper, and I'm looking forward to the day when YOU can move on completely and put all the complications behind you - please remember that day is coming!
HUGS!!!!

Evergreene ... thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have to say my hubby has kept me going as he has been by my side every step of the way. He is the one who dragged my sorry tushy to emerg twice when I was fighting him not to go.

Your kind words mean so much and this site has given me such strength.

Hugs for you,
Tracy
