Doing Great!!

Hi Everyone,

My LAVH was 19 days ago and I feel great. I still get tired easy. Yesterday I cleaned the kitchen and did laundry. Then I made 2 loafs of french bread and homemade meatballs for dinner to go with Spaghatti. I took a nap, when the bread was rising. It felt good to do something around the house. It has been very hard to let people help me and do things for me. My family has been great. 2 of my daughters live with me along with 3 of my grandchildren. I have always done everything for them and taken care of them. Its now there turn and they have done a good job of it. The cleaning has not been up to my standards but who cares if the sink is not sparkling. LOL
Love to everyone

Re: Doing Great!!

Hoo Ray Cath!!! I'm impressed with your list of chores you did yesterday. That would've tired me pre-op! I had TAH/RSO 13 days ago, and not really feeling tired, though I don't do much other than walk around the house a bit. Gonna venture outside with the dog later for a short walk. I don't care that it's only 15 degrees out there - I need to get out and so does the dog!

Glad you have lots of help around the house! I have too, from my DH and 7 yo DS, tho their help is starting to wane. My mother (who lives 130 miles away) said to ignore the mess and the dog hair tumbleweeds blowing down the hallway. Just gotta take 'er easy and get better. I've been heeding her advice. Like you, the house isn't up to my typical standard of clean, which isn't very high to begin with! lol I have the rest of my life to clean - I can hold off for a while longer.

Cheers to feeling wonderful!!

Re: Doing Great!!

gbtitletown,

I know what you mean about the dog fur it is everywhere and about getting outside. I live in northern CA and it is 40 out here and lots and lots of RAIN. So I have not gotten outside much.

I am glad that you are getting up and around. It does take some time to get back on your feet. I did think that I would be back at work this week but I am glad that my Doctor said NO you need time to heal inside not just outside.

I am going to take your advice and just tell myself that I have the rest of my life to clean and try not to let it get to me to much. LOL

Re: Doing Great!!

Good for you. I wish I could have a taste of your homemade bread! But, don't over do it... Blessings and hugs from someone 21 days out from TVH who has not made bread. (I can toast it thought! Does that count?)

Re: Doing Great!!

Hooray!!! ... I'm in the "bread club" and would love your receipe. After all, I've got time on my hands.

Since surgery, I've lost 1 lb and look forward to dropping a few more. Last year I lost 20 lbs by being careful with what I ate and walking for 30-45 minutes every day - walking at work or around the house didn't count. As soon as I get the magic ticket from my doctor, I want to increase my excercise again and hope to lose another 10 lbs (like you said, baby steps) and then if I reach that goal, shoot for another 10 lbs.
Good luck with your weight loss and continued recovery. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
