Surgery Prep

I haven't yet seen this issue discussed, and would like some advice.

I'm having my TVH on 5/25 (hooray!!), and was wondering if they will shave my pubic area before the surgery. If this is the case, I think I would prefer to do it myself before going to the Castle.

I've heard the DR's don't want you to do it, in case of nicks and cuts for fear of infection. I would ask your doctor, or just let them do it... they do it after you are already out!

About a month ago there was a thread all about this topic, you might want to do a search to find it. That thread mentioned that you shouldn't for different reasons.

I am having surgery tomorrow and was told not to shave, they will shave you. There were many reasons given, but mainly infection. If you are not comfortable having them shave you while awake you can ask them to do it after you are a sleep. Hope all goes well with you. God Bless
