Arms and legs feel "twitchy"?

Hello ladies - I have a question. I am 3 1/2 weeks post TAH and I'm having trouble with this twitchy feeling in my arms and legs. I feel like I constantly need to stretch, but stretching doesn't relieve the feeling. It's driving me nuts. I have a partial ovary left that is supposed to keep me from surgical menopause, but I'm wondering if this is a hormonal problem? I'm also achy all over my abdoman and lower back, which the pain meds don't seem to help. Have any of you also have this or a similar problem? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Arms and legs feel "twitchy"?

Hi Sharon0308
I reported my twitchy legs to my Doc and he told me I have Restless Legs syndrome. Low iron can aggrivate this. As it was, my iron was very low (excessive bleeding) and eventually we decided to go with TAH (FEB 14th). My legs have been good, although I find they are more apt to get twitchy when I'm tired. I also take calcium at night and this seems to help.

Arms and legs feel "twitchy"?

I was feeling "twitchy legs" when I went to bed at night. I'm also anemic. Since I've been taking iron pills, I noticed the feeling has lessened.

Arms and legs feel "twitchy"?

When I had twitchy legs before my TAH (I was anemic like others here), I found some daily light exercising/walking helped a lot, as well as taking iron daily, and some calcium/magnesium/zinc supplements in the evenings. If you take calcium, make sure you take the magnesium & zinc as well, since they will all be used by your body better when taken in combination. Now during recovery, I find daily exercise (in whatever tiny amounts I can) helps dramatically - laying around is wrecking havic to my muscle-tone.

Here's to getting around a normal amount again, soon! -- Karen

Thanks for all the advice - I will have my Dr. check my iron levels. In the meantime I'll have beef and spinach for dinner
I appreciate your help!
