One ovary asleep, one awake?!

Hi ladies,

Quick question--have any of you experienced only having raging PMS symptoms every other month? I'm 31 and almost 6 months post-op. I still have both ovaries left and have tried to figure out when my "cycle" was to tell if the weight on the scale was water weight or not (I've been trying to lose and even with diet and exercise the number is not going down). Along the way, I've been tracking when I felt exceptionally hormonal (way worse than my PMS was prior to my LAVH) and found that it hits around the middle of every other month. Did this kill an ovary or what? I just can't figure out how one seems to be working and the other isn't. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Selene

Re: One ovary asleep, one awake?!

After researching this topic after my own hysterectomy, I discovered that anything is possible. However, it is very normal for BOTH ovaries to be stymied, so to speak, for several months. It could be that just one of yours is trying to wake up, or they're both not giving their all just yet.

You are still new in the recovery process. There will be more changes to come. Take care, Princess. ...Deb
