Grateful

Its 9 days since my hysterectomy and i up until today felt alone and wondering if i have done the right thing. Today i found you ladies and after reading progress, im not alone. Im experiencing the same pain, the same hurt, even the same bladder pain of a morning that some of you are. What a relief. I felt i had done the wrong thing , as doctors dont tell you about what to expect after you go home. I need to go to my daughters 16th dinner tomorrow night, even though its within the two weeks since abdominal surgery that im meant to stay at home. If i just go sit at the table and eat. It will be ok? I hope so. Me being the control freak that i am had intended 3 days recovery. Funny how i cannot control recovery!! Again thank you ladies, Im in such a better headspace now than when i woke up.xx

Re: Grateful

Welcome,
I just read your post, and looked up to see what kind of surgery you had. I had the same surgery 5 days ago. I think as long as you're not feeling nauseas or so tired you can't walk, or are hurting to much to sit. I don't see any reason to stay home. Granted it's only my opinion, but I'm planning on going to see my in-laws and have a birthday dinner this comming sunday.

Blessings to you in your recovery, and welcome

Bondi
Hello and God bless you!! I am on week 8 of recovery Praise God and I am still sore and achy. I also have a small ache in my bladder when it is full when I go and pee. I would take it very easy if you do go out and about. You do NOT want to push yourself. I know for me at 10 days I could not go out of the house. It was too early for me. I also had abdominal surgery. It will take you a good while to start feeling better. Do NOT be discouraged! I never thought I would reach the day I could actually say I was glad I did this surgery....but I have! Everyday gets better!. ****HUGS**** to you and may God be with you and your family!

Re: Grateful

WELCOME!!! I remember feeling the same as you, I was very grateful I found the site before my surgery, I had no one to talk to and was very scared, thought I was the only one going through this. I'm 56yrs old and didn't know squat, I grew up in a time that you didn't talk about such things. Now I'm am addict to this site, everyone has helped and you find out Hey I'm not alone.

Re: Grateful

Four days after my davinci...i had my hair touched up!! YIKES!! I know , kinda dumb, but i felt good...just moved very slowly around the shop. That was the last of my brave efforts.....i took the rest of the time to relax and not do too much. At 58 yrs old,,,i wanted to heal right and not have to have any "repair" surgery.
Hope everyone is feeling good and getting back to a "normal" routine!!
