Just feel like crying

I just feel like crying!

My friend just cancelled on me for a get together day of shopping and having fun that we planned a few weeks ago. I told her then that I really needed a "girl's day" before surgery and recovery, and now she bailed on me! I was with her through all of her troubles, but she can't seem to come through with mine! It seems that when I need my friends the most, they disappear. I always try to take time for my friends during their crisis's, why can't they do the same for me????

What a bummer! Did she even give you a reason?

I know it won't make you feel any better, but I had to have surgery on my eye one time and my sister was supposed to drive me to and from the hospital. She canceled on me at the last minute and I ended up driving myself.

Where in Wisconsin are you. If I was closer I would shop with you.

I am so sorry that she bailed on you, people can be so self involved! I would shop with you too!

That just isn't right!
I tried to get those times in too before today ( I was cancelled) but now it looks like maybe NEXT Wednesday. Going to try to get confirmation on that tomorrow.
I too would shop with you if we were closer -- lunch too!!!

Seriously though, some people just can't handle things, and maybe it would have been too much for her emotionally.

Or, maybe she's just a jerk . . . Either way, I'd go shopping with you, too!

to All of you! You all have made me feel so much better. I want to get in the car now and do a major road trip and shop and do lunch with each any every one of you! You gals in IL, IN and IA are not that far away and I would end the trip in FL to get out of this cold weather here in the Midwest. The only thing that is stopping me is dh and work.

I purchased a couple of books on preparing for surgery and recovery. One the books mentioned you should be with people that will help you "feel the love" and avoid those who drain your energy. Well, sisters, you have helped me feel the love, and this friend does not. So, I am no longer going to allow myself to be said because it is draining my energy. I want to focus on being positive.
