What's the best thing that's happened?

What a great idea for a post!

There are several things...I realized just how many people care about me and wish me well in my recovery and I have a renewed love for my DH and DD's because of the excellent care they have given (and still are giving) me

I do believe the best thing physically is NO BLOOD, NO PADS and NO LEAKING when I sneeze!

What's the best thing that's happened?

Many good things have happened to me.

My DH and I have improved our relationship and are closer than ever.

I came to realize how truly blessed I am when I was surrounded by friends, family, and my supportive church community. I was very, very spoiled during my recovery.

I had cancer but it was stage 1 and my gyn oncologist said he believes I am 100% cured. I realize what a great family doctor I have to diagnose this so early.

My boss was supportive and kind and allowed me to slowly work my way back into the swing of things. My excellent disability policy supported me during my absence.

A hysterectomy is a difficult experience, as we all know, but sometimes it is adversity that shows you your blessings.

What's the best thing that's happened?

4 weeks off work!

Getting to know our 80 year old neighbor better as she brings by soup and goodies every couple of days.

The best mac & cheese ever, brought over by friends and enjoyed in the comfort of the couch.

Feeling swelly belly slowly de-swell.

Thinking of all the money I'll save on pads and tampons (now, must think of a way to spend it!)

4 weeks off work!

Spending more time with DH.

What's the best thing that's happened?

For the first time in my life of being a skinny chick, I now have a nice pot belly (i.e., swelly belly), that DH and I rub for luck. Now, if only all our wishes would come true......

What's the best thing that's happened?

Well I have thought about this and like most of you it's where my family comes in and helps out with the chores. It's done like I like it but I sure as heck don't say that. I would never want to hurt anyones feelings.

I have great friends who keep calling to see if I need anything. I'm also so thankful for coming across this site. To all my friends here who have helped me this past 3 1/2 weeks. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God, bless each of you and heel you to a full recovery.

What's the best thing that's happened?

Learning that I *have* to take care of myself.

Giving myself permission to rest.

Making lots of friendships here on HS. The support here has been amazing.

Empowering myself by learning so much about the female reproductive system.

Finding a new career goal. I am an LCSW, emerging from the mommy cave (I was in there much longer than intended due to special needs of my kids). I wanted to go into private practice psychotherapy...now I would like to work in a medical setting, helping women like us through this journey.
