suprapubic catheter after A &p Repair and trouble voiding

I had a TVH and A & P Repair on Dec 9 2008. I went home with a suprapubic catheter--this was a planned strategy by my surgeon. I am not voiding yet but he tells me that it will happen soon. I am having lots more pain than I expected. Any advice on the pain and the catheter from my sisters?

I'm so sorry you're experiencing pain but it's still very early days and a hysterectomy is major surgery; you've had extra procedures, also.

Thanks for the information-my catheter is out now-I ended up only having it for one week--I am now 3 weeks post op and am feeling much better-thank you for the kind words of encouragement--Miller
