Pain "down there" but external-- from fibroids? (sorry, TMI)

Hi,

Sorry for a graphic post, but I'm just not sure what's going on and I need help. I have a large fibroid. Tried two hysteroscopic myomectomy surgeries, no luck. Am currently thinking and deciding between hysterectomy or mini-lap myomectomy.

Anyway, that's not the point of my question but I wanted to share that background first. My question is, for some reason my whole nether regions area, from front to back, is quite sore and almost chapped. When I go to the bathroom it stings and burns. The pain is actually worse at the back end area.

I have had to wear a pantiliner almost constantly between periods because of spotting, so I thought this might be something like diaper rash. I tried using a cream for that but it doesn' t seem to be resolving the issue. It helps a little bit on contact, but then it hurts just as bad next time I go to the bathroom.

Has anyone had this problem with fibroids? I'm wondering if my uterus is pushing out on the walls and making that whole area more painful, or something like that. I don't know what to do and I hate being in so much discomfort!

Any ideas?

I would suggest talking to your doctor. Wearing a pad constantly can cause what you are experiencing and might require a prescription medication to clear it up and an alternative to wearing a pad so often -- maybe a different type of pad, medication, soaking, etc.

Are you having any hormonal issues? That can also cause some of what you are describing.

I hope you and your doctor can decide exactly what is going on so you can receive the best treatment to help you be more comfortable while you make your decision. s
