Pre op in the morning, period just started.

Great. Just started my period at 9pm tonight and preop is at 9am.

Between my last appointment and this one, I went to my PCP and found out I have A&P prolapses. I called him and my doctor sent him her findings, and he said he would talk about them with me during preop, as far as if he can fix them while doing the hyster.

The problem is, and the reason why he and I didn't know about the prolapses before, is that they only appear when I push or bear down. I'm assuming he is going to want to do an exam. How is that going to work with me on my period? I've never had an exam during a period, it's not heavy (I'm on the Mirena coil) but is he going to be able to see what he needs to? Do they have to clean the areas or something? Will he be all grossed out and not check? I realize that last one is a really stupid question, just can't find the words on what I'm feeling.

Re: Post op in the morning, period just started.

They've seen it all, he will check. I was worried I was going to start so I looked it up online & people said to wear a pad. Good luck tomorrow, soon no more periods! Yeah!!!

Pre op in the morning, period just started.

I've had a pap and pelvic exam during bleeding. No big deal. The doctor is very familiar with everything that happens down there. Just let the nurse know and what your flow is like. She'll give the doctor a heads up
