What to do?

S

As long as you have a phone within reach at all times, including when you are up walking or using the bathroom, etc. so you can call for help if necessary you should be ok. MY DH went to work the day after I came home, and I was fine. The first couple of times I went up or downstairs I made sure he was on the down side just in case, and we have bathrooms on both floors so once I was downstairs for the day I had no reason to go back up.

The nurses should help you learn how to get yourself out of bed, but in case they don't: it's easiest (well it was for me anyway) to roll onto my side at the edge of the bed then swing my legs over the side and use my arms to push myself to a sitting position. Sit on the edge of the bed for a few seconds to make sure your head is clear, then just stand up.

But if there is any possible way he could at least get the first night home off, or if you have a family member or friend who may be able to stay with you you and DH would probably breathe easier.

Best wishes.
