Best thing I ever did.......
Hi! I just wanted to let everyone know that is going to have a total hysterectomy how it has changed my life. I had a hysterectomy last June. I am 34 and for the last 20 years I have suffered from severe mood swings, depression with suicidal ideation, and anxiety. I was a wreck. I never thought I would be able to hold a job or take care of myself and my child alone. Well after my hysterectomy (the first 3 months I was still leveling out)I finally have a life. I no longer battle those mood swings or depression. I have PCOS and still have to deal with side effects of that but now I have joy and hope. I finally found out through Dr. Vliet from Herplace.com how moods, brain chemistry and even memory is so severly affected by our hormones. Good luck to you as you are on your journey. I welcome any questions or comments from fellow cysters considering or battling with this. Hugs! Patti

Hi granolapaz
Thank you so much for your uplifting post I know that you had a very specific, and some may think radical, reason for a hysterectomy and I'm so glad it has worked out so well for you. May you continue down this path in good health.

Yes I am sure people may think it is radical but after trying anything and everything under the sun....weight loss, exercise, herbs, medicine, hormones and more over a lifetime I knew that this was the right thing. I truely have never lived a quality life until now. I would never tell someone to do this as an initial solution....many people find relief with the other things I mentioned. Thanks for your encouragement! Hugs

Best thing I ever did.......
Since my hyst I have had terrible depression and suicidal thoughts, no libido and trouble with orgasm, am snappy and *****y, body shape changes - huge tummy, waist gone, boobs shrunk and shrivelled, lost sensitivity in my 'girl bits' and nipples.
I don't have any endo pain, but in my case I had to give up an awful lot just to get rid of pain.
If I knew then what I know now I would NOT have had this done in a million years, FYI I am nearly 4 years post op.

I am 34 and my TAH was the best thing to happen to me. I had a large fibroid causing lots of pain, bladder issues, lots of blood and now it is all gone ( I even lost 5 pounds). As for my mood.....I am more relaxed and not so anxious as before. I have always thought I had ADHD......I still have 1 ovary, so I wonder if my body is producing less estrogen? Well if this change is all mental.....then being mental is a good thing!
