Re: does anyone else have a rapid heartbeat??

Definitely get in touch with your doctor today. I have dealt with tachycardia (rapid pulse) a few times, the first time following my hysterectomy. It was taken very seriously and I was given quite a few immediate restrictions because it can lead to a heart attack or even death. For instance, one time when I called my GP about it, over the phone I was told, "No walking, no sex, no driving, no stress, no no no no. Basically sit in the recliner until your appointment and call 911 if it worsens at all." And no, I am not exaggerating in the slightest. My pulse was around 120 and going to over 150 if I moved.

While tachycardia can occur because of hormonal imbalance, it is also a side effect of Celexa. Thus, you do not want to increase your HRT or Celexa dose and you need to get in touch with your doctor as you may have to discontinue the Celexa and make changes to your HRT.

There are other reasons for tachycardia, too, so try to keep a symptom diary to share with your doctor. You also need to be sure you are staying hydrated and getting enough potassium.

Please get in touch with your ASAP and let us know how things go! You should even consider going to ER, especially if the symptoms worsen or you also feel pain in your jaw, arm, chest, or have a stomachache.
