Re: Complex endometrial hyperplasia w/ atypia - 30 & wondering
Hi Faith to God!! I'm doing really well, even started driving again. My instructions said 1-2 weeks as long as I wasn't taking prescription pain killers which I didn't have to take at all. I waited the full 2 weeks though, because of the idiot drivers in my city. I have only gone short distances, so far. To the store, to visit my Mom who's about 20 minutes away - that was my biggest trip so far. Going great - but I'm already getting a little bored. Been walking a mile twice a day weather permitting, so thats a good thing and am going to start doing light core exercises for my back again...this not doing anything is making me more stiff and sore than the surgery - LOL. My boss is coming into town tomorrow and I'm meeting her and my co-workers for lunch, so that will be nice to see them. I have my 1 and hopefully only follow up appt on Aug 9th and will hopefully get the green light to go back to work. Never thought I would say that, I always said I would like to retire..but not this way!
Now for your other questions. Yes, I had my ovaries removed - I guess it's pretty standard with this diagnosis, especially with the PCOS. Also in my case I went through menapause early, or so my labs and other things indicated. So they really weren't doing anything for me at this point other than causing problems!
My surgery was done by the GYN/ONC and I'm ever so glad I did it that way as they can do "frozen section" preliminary pathology testing on the organs while you are still under anesthesia and if necessary take lymph nodes during the same surgery. Where as most regular gyn do not always have the capability or facilties to do this. So I had a preliminary answer immediately. If I had my reg gyn do the surgery, (and she said she would if I really wanted her too), I would have had to wait for any results and if it had come back positive would have had to go back to the gyn/onc for the lymph node surgery anyways. And gyn\onc are specifically trained in this field. Kind of gave me a little more confidence in the whole thing knowing I had an expert looking at things and doing the surgery. Don't get me wrong, I love my reg gyn and will be going back to her for everything from now on, but...something about having a specialist just put me at ease.
How are you doing? Feeling any difference yet? I do hope the hormone stuff works for you - at least as long as you need it too! Take care!!

I'm Glad you're ok.
Do you have a PCOS too?
As of me,I'm still taking the hormone stuff, and will go back to my gyn last week of Aug to do the ultrasound and biopsy.
I'm still scared, I wanna do the surgery to ease my mind, but we want to have a child, before we do that. This situation is so hard.

Re: Complex endometrial hyperplasia w/ atypia - 30 & wondering
Yes, I finally, after years of me & my family Dr thinking it was a possibility, got a confirmation diagnosis of that in 2011. Everytime we would talk about it, I'ld do the testing and everything would come back normal, but I had most of the signs for it. The irregular bleeding, weight issues, annoying hairs on my chin etc..etc...
Don't give up hope on things just yet. Like I said, sometimes they can hold things off with hormones long enough to try for that little one you want. Seek 2nd and 3rd opinions if necessary. Be sure YOU are comfortable with any decisions you make.

Any time!! I know its scary, but try not to think about that part. Try to concentrate on the positives, that the hormones will work for you - it really does help.
Someone else on this board asked me this when I was a newbie and scared and it made me smile...so I'm going to borrow it and hope it makes you smile too. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Kind of a fun twist on the one day at a time saying!!

Re: Complex endometrial hyperplasia w/ atypia - 30 & wondering
Hi Faith to God, Just wondering how you were doing? My recovery is still progressing nicely. I am hoping that after my 1 and hopefully only follow up on the 9th, I can go back to work on the 12th. That's the plan anyways. Anyways, I hope you are doing well!!

Re: Complex endometrial hyperplasia w/ atypia - 30 & wondering
Hi P83!
Thanks for asking... I really need someone to talk to, someone who can understand the situation.
As of now I'm still taking the hormone pills. I can't wait for my next appointment, I wanna know my next biopsy result.
Good to hear your recovering so well.. Good for you that you don't have a problem about this condition anymore. You can relax now..
Takecare & God Bless Us!
