TAH Tomorrow will be 3 weeks!

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my TAH. I was totally expecting to be back to almost normal by now after having 2 c-sections I thought the recovery from this should be a piece of cake! Wrong!! What gives?? Why is there still so much unexpected pain? When I try to get out of the house for a bit I get super sore, my back hurts and I feel really weak! Is this normal? I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so I don't take the pain pills but I totally expected to be able to go back to work next week. At this rate I am not going to make it!

My advice is not to rush it. I had a TAH in January. I did not go back to work until at 7 weeks. I have now been back for 2 weeks and by the end of my shift I am really tired. I still have soreness at times too. It takes awhile to be back at 100 percent. While I am doing much better, I still have healing to do. This is a big surgery.

I am so glad you said this. Now I don't feel so bad! I mean I hate that things aren't easy for but I'm 2 weeks out and thinking holy crap.

Things will progressively begin to get better and fall back into place. Just do not overdo it when you begin to feel better. I did that at week 5 and landed up in bed for 2 days feeling like crap. When you feel you need to rest, Rest!!
