Could walking cause pressure or cuff tear?

Hello Sisters,
I am four weeks post op, and spotting. I had DaVinci TAH, is this normal? Sometimes I feel like I'm Eve's oldest daughter and cursed with the blood. I had surgery to stop continuous bleeding and spotting, but is this because of the vaginal cuff thingy? I do walk quite a bit, but otherwise I feel great. I have no pain, no constipation, no swelly belly, just blood. Could walking cause too much pressure or possibly torn my vaginal cuff?

Re: Could walking cause pressure or cuff tear?

Bleeding at 4 weeks post op can be normal. I did. My doc told me it was due to dissolving stitches in the vaginal cuff. It is possible that you are walking too much and overdoing it. Perhaps if you take it a little easier the bleeding will subside. I haven't yet heard of walking causing a tear. Usually tears come with quite a bit of pain, or so I've read in posts on this site. Hope it stops soon.

Re: Could walking cause pressure or cuff tear?

I also walk a lot. Sadly no weight loss lol I had bleeding/spotting for the first 4 weeks. I know 1 day I overdid it. I went to the drs at 4 weeks for a UTI. I asked about the prior bleeding. I was told the same thing Elsie said. It was dissolving stitches. I go in tomorrow for 6 week post op. I hope all is dissolved and restrictions lifted! GL to you!!!

Re: Could walking cause pressure or cuff tear?

Thank you sisters,

I think I will limit my walking to 10-15 minutes a day and get plenty of rest. You all have been so comforting and helpful. I was actually scared of going through this without any femme support from women who have been through the same thing. My mom was the only one I knew who had a hysterectomy, unfortunately she passed ten yrs ago, but to have you all here to answer questions....feels great!
