OMG I am so cranky!!!
Post Op Day 6. Everyone here makes me want to scream!! Is crankiness a part of this. I just want to be locked up alone. Then yesterday I realized I was officially on UNPAID medical leave it made things 10X worse!! How do I calm down because when I feel my emotions getting high I hurt!! Any suggestions or is what I am feeling wrong. All I want to do is cry!!!

Re: OMG I am so cranky!!!
Honey , I was the SAME WAY..my first week I was a hot mess...I cried at the drop of a hat and went from 0 to 60 in the mood department in seconds...I am still a bit moody but it is not like it was..It does get better , Especially when you can get up and around more..I know this may sound strange but I just let myself cry , It made me feel better...It was like a release...My poor husband thought he was the one making me cry so much by not helping or doing something wrong , I finally had to tell him that it is my hormones and my emotions are in high gear , Just be patient with me and hug me when you see me like this , Now there have been a few times I told him to leave me alone..lol Poor man is so confused..Your not alone !! Please remember that...I find it very therapeutic to come here and vent..I did this morning and I am feeling better...HUGS!

Re: OMG I am so cranky!!!
Hi there livingratitude.
For me yes, crankiness was a part of it. Are you used to doing everything yourself? Are you being waited on hand and foot and this is why you are out of sorts, or perhaps it's because you want to be waited on and no one will do it.
It also sounds like you have added stress and I am sorry about that.
For me, I found taking deep breaths (sounds silly , but it helped). Then, I had to think of myself in my protective healing bubble. Sometimes, when things were going on around me I would pretend to be asleep, and things did get resolved.
Tears are ok. You have gone through quite a bit remember, surgery is a big thing.
Sending lots of 's

Re: OMG I am so cranky!!!
My kids are still young 12 and 7 , they are so aggravating here lately , I know it's because I am a bit edgy but I have darn near tossed about 90% of their loud toys( it takes convincing myself to walk OUT of their rooms to prevent said tossing) , I can imagine a set of drums..You need your rest , Ask him to go easy on the drums!!! and do tell Mom that you really wish she would not say that because it is upsetting you...My Mom told me , No one will know what you want or need unless you tell them" very true statement!

Re: OMG I am so cranky!!!
Please don't put your foot through them, it will hurt you, so might I recommend ........darn nothing is lighter than 10 pounds. I was thinking bowling ball. How about the broom handle, (but people in the house may think you should sweep, and remember none of that for a while. )
Ear protectors and then that would send quite the message or even ear plugs.
Sounds like you are trying to think of some ways of communicating.
I just know that because of surgery, I thought I was pretty "with it" but then found out that I tired so easily, even when listening to loud music or someone having the TV too loud.
I couldn't concentrate on some 1/2 hour TV shows and reading was out of the question. Each day will get a little better.
Take care of you.

Re: OMG I am so cranky!!!
Aww yes, the DREADED 10 pound rule!! I know, I can't concentrate on a tv show or hear music too long and I find myself traveling down "Cranky Lane" again!! And my kids (boys 12 & 10) and getting an ear full!! I am so grateful to be on medical leave because I could have bitten my boss' head off this week which, last time I did that, got me on a 30 day notice!! No one tells you about this in the fine print!!!
