New to site - 3 weeks post TAH

Hi. I'm a 41 yo married mother of 3 children. I found a mass in abdomen doing crunchies at gym. Didn't mention it until seeing GP for routine pap smear 17 Jan. U/S next day (mass reported as complex cystic mass 12.6cm) and then Gyn appt 1 week later. CT scan same week. CA 125 was 108. Surgery booked for 17 Feb. Frozen section in OT came back yellow cell carcinoma - but impossible in woman my age, so suspicious of clear cell carcinoma, so TAH performed with lymph nodes also removed from right side. Final path 1 week later came back BENIGN!!! Yay! 3 weeks post op now and feeling great! So far recovery excellent!

I don't think there is any word better than benign !! good for you. But don't forget that 3 weeks is still very early and you do have to take it easy. It is so important in the early days to be careful and gentle with yourself.

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement! It's funny, I get the distinct impression that some people around me tend to think I should be doing more because I looked so good so soon after surgery. My body lets me know if I've pushed too hard, and I definitely listen!! Sometimes I feel a little guilty though that I'm not doing more. I know it's just their own ignorance of the repercussions, but sometimes it's hard to take. I have to stop myself from snapping. My wonderful family and most of my close friends have been terrific though - and they most certainly ensure I still rest. It's great to get feedback from women who have been through it, so thanks again!
