Can endo return?

I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy November 2016 due to a fibroid that was cancerous (pNet). My initial surgery was in October 2016 to remove an ovarian cyst and this fibroid during this surgery I was diagnosed with pretty severe endometriosis that had attached to everything including my bladder (causing interstitial cystitis) and abdominal wall. The first surgery couldn't remove all of the endometriosis, the surgeon said it was too much he did the best he could do. My hysterectomy was performed by a gynecologist oncologist whose main focus was the cancer but he says he removed everything that was left.
My question is, can endometriosis return without ovaries or use of hrt medication? My thought was that estrogen is needed for it to grow.
I've started to have pain like I used to have when I had the endometriosis. I'm getting CT scans with contrast every 3 months and they are clear of any growths.
Any thoughts? What doctor would handle this?

Technically that is true, but what some don't realize is that endometriosis can be missed and sometimes those remaining implants can create their own estrogen. There's also several ways that your body can have estrogen without ovaries or HRT.

It could be endo, it could be adhesions from endo or prior surgeries, it could be something else entirely.

Unfortunately, endometriosis and adhesions, especially when they are smaller, do not tend to show up on any type of imaging.

I would suggest keeping a symptom diary and if at all possible see an endometriosis specialist. Other options include talking to your gynecologic oncologist, gynecologist, or general practitioner. Those doctors could help rule out other conditions that might be causing your symptoms based on your symptom diary.
