Vaginal bleeding at 5 weeks post-op

I am almost 5 weeks since total hysterectomy and have had one complication after another. I had 2 surgeries within a weeks time. I am now bleeding vaginally and a bit concerned, but I am a worrywort. I had both surgeries from belly button down. Is this normal??

I don't know if it is or not, but my advice would be to call your doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry. Let us know what happens. Good luck!!

I'm sorry you've had complications and additional surgery. I hope you are feeling ok and on the road to recovery.

After a hysterectomy, some vaginal bleeding is normal and is usually a part of healing and/or stitches dissolving. If you are bleeding bright red blood and/or soaking a pad you should call your doctor.

If you are worried, please call your doctor. That's what they are there for and it will help ease your mind.

Thanks for the replies. I will call the doctor today. The last time I had to call him, I had bleeding at my incision and he said it was normal. The following evening I was being rushed to ER because my stitches popped open and my bowels were coming out. Needless to say, I am nervous about anything that doesnt seem normal to me.
