Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

Ok...so i am 4 weeks out... 2 week post op dr says no restrictions..and pretty much releases me but if anything call him..still out of work 6 weeks...ok let me just say i have been doing little things all along to help recover and resting inbetween...ive never rested this much...however that being said...i slowly started doing more nothing to strenuos not over doing it if it felt weird i stopped...however...i feel like ive hit a wall...pee is good bm is normal no burning w pee...but i feel pressure in the lower abdomen by late afternoon i feel swollen down there sitting for hrs doesnt work for me and i get this shooting pain under the skn obv but a sharp shooting pain right down into the vagina...which isnt constant but keeps coming and going......last wed I did a little more because they encourage us to get back to normal activities...well advil was not cutting it, i am sitting with ice packs by the end of the night and needing to take a percocet to get comfortable enough to get some decent sleep...DH went by the dr office to talk with the nurse this morning (so good) she then called me and I explained whats going on...she talked to dr... no pain meds...i now have to go back to hosp tomorrow to get a ct scan with some kind of chalky liquid to see if i am healing ok......i am glad dr is doing the test i was just hoping to be over the poking and proding seeing as how no more periods and pathology came back neg...DID anyone HIT A WALL LIKE THIS @ 4 weeks????i know its a slow recovery and we need to rest and i am sure after this test he will say its all normal healing pain which i am good with but i just want to find what normal is going to be now that all the mess is over...

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

I am also about 4weeks post-op. I am currently taking only premarin(1.25mg) and a one a day multivitamin, I struggle with fatigue and pain myself. I am trying different things to try to get relief. I am also still struggling with hot flashes periodically. I am looking to vitamins, more REST(which seems ridiculous because the most strenuous thing I have done is change my linens), and increasing my water intake. I also find a great deal of help, advise, and support on this site! I hope through trial and error that WE can all find peace and stamina in the hormone jungle=]

Sounds like you're both normal to me already. Im 3 mos post op and I still battle fatigue and hormone issues. I don't hardly ever have belly pain, a little tenderness now and then but nothing to take anything for. I went back to work at 4 weeks and it was all I could do to make it through the day. Exhausted when I got home. Haven't hardly cooked since March, still trying to keep up with daily stuff at home. I do get the swelly beely regularly though. About 4-5 times a week.

The swelly belly has suprised me too! I am also sore and achey in my belly late in the afternoon. Sometimes I just have to lay in bed because it hurts to sit up. I am off to the health food store this am to try to find something new to try...Will let you know what I find!

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

I'm 4 weeks PO as well, and I still can't sit up straight for long period of time without feeling uncomfortable. Some days I have a lot of energy and other days I just lay around exhausted. I think it's all normal as this is still major surgery and will take plenty of time to heal. Just because you had the Divinci method doesn't mean it wasn't major. If you read the checkpoints for weeks 3-4, you'll see that we can take 2 steps forward and 1 step back. That step back can definitely feel like hitting a wall. I'm glad you're going in for some tests just to be sure and hope that all checks out well. You're still a Princess - pampering is still in order! Let us know how your doctor visit goes. Meanwhile, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

There is a thread about the "three week wall". It happened to me at three weeks. I have never slept so much in my life! No energy, no appetite! I felt like I would never be able to do anything again. It does go away. I don't know why it happens, but it does. I had 2 surgeries, one VH with repairs, the second BSO with repairs, and it happened both times. I now fondly call my swelly belly Junior as it gets huge. I just lay flat on my back and rest. That seems to help. Take care of yourselves, and rest, rest, rest. You have this one chance, and you will begin to feel better than your old self! Heal well!

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

I am 7 weeks post today and I just want to sau I sympathize. At 4 weeks I got a sharp pain in my right abdomen and was so sick I thought it was my appendix. Dr couldn't find anything at all (did CT with constrast as well) It lasted almost 3 weeks and then, just the other day <poof!> Went away. Still don't know what it was and my back by my kidneys is still a little sore, but hey, as long as its gone, I'm good! Sometimes its frustrsting I know, but I think it's pretty normal, probably a ligament or the stitches dissolving so just relax, hon, and it will be ok!

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

Well the health food store is full of a thousand different pills for menopause and energy. There are so many that I should be able to find something. I am currently going to just try panac315 liquid vitamin/mineral/etc/etc....My problem is with energy and mood so the B vitamins and several other ingredients should help. I will post on my results!

Re: Alright...Need some serious feed back..HIT A WALL

I have everything that you are describing, and I had a ct scan last Friday with the contrast because I developed a great big huge knot on the left side just below my belly button. Everything came back all clear, but I was told to take it easy.
