Re: Belly binder

I had a DVH and I found I like the protection/support of the belly binder when I am walking outside, when I drive or ride in a car, and/or if I will be around small children, pets, or in a crowd. I too am overweight and I think it does help with support. I do not wear it when I am laying down or just sitting at home. I wore it basically every day for first six weeks, then less often weeks 7 and 8. I just started back to work and I sit at a desk much of the day and that is not comfortable. I also often still use a travel pillow with my seatbelt in the car if I am not wearing my binder. At this point it may be more peace of mind than actual support....I like the one from hyster sisters as well. Good luck and use this time to start walking more. I am in better shape now than I have been for about 10 years and lost about 20 pounds ( in spite of Swelly belly most evenings!

Re: Belly binder

I bought mine at the Hyster Sisters store too. I use it when I walk outside or go out of the house. If I don't my abdomen feels "heavy" after a short period of time.

Will continue to use it as needed as the support also helps my back.

Take care !

Re: Belly binder

I am from the UK and wasn't given any advice what so ever, I have a slight roll/swelling just above my wound, I am 4weeks post op and have found a UK site that sells hysterectomy underwear, mine are on there way. It must be quite nice to have had that support as I tend to walk around holding mine. Take care:-)
