2 months post-op and burning pain

It's been a little over 2 months since I had LAVH-BSO and recovery seemed complete. However, the past several days I have had a raw, burning feeling in the vaginal area. There is no discharge or odor (Sorry for TMI). Has anyone had this problem?

Yes, I too have that problem. I am 9 weeks post op and it just felted irritated. I went to the dr. and he checked me and said everything was fine and it was probably just due to dryness. Now, two days later I have some discharge, but it is clear and is only once in a while. He said nothing to be concerned about. It still is not fun!

might it be from being dry? you can have vaginal atrophy (how's that for a horrible description?) when you go into surgical menopause and the vaginal tissues aren't as 'plump' and pliable. My doctor increased my dosage of oral estrogen, and i applied vaginal estrogen for a while, and that did the trick. i hope you're feeling better soon. keep asking the doctor for 'something' til you feel better...you shouldn't feel uncomfortable.

Thanks ladies, for your help. I will contact my doctor on Monday. I thought that the HRT that I had been on for 6 weeks was fine and didn't realize my symptoms could change. I wondered if it was dryness or even a yeast infection. This isn't any fun!

I agree with joannel, don't let the dr just let this go. It does sound like dryness although yeast could cause the irritation too, but at any rate it isn't normal and you shouldn't have to just live with it. If one dr doesn't know what to do then you might need to seek another opinion.
I hope you find an answer soon.

I called my dr. yesterday and he called in premarin vaginal cream, so we shall see if this helps. Thanks for the push to call.
