Weird question.... *giggle*

Hiya girls

Well, I have a bizarre one for you.

As you might have realised, I'm a bit of a medical buff. I adore all things medicine/pharmaceutical related, and this leads me to wonder...

Do you think there's any chance they'll let me keep the removed uterus? I mean..in a jar of formalin or other fixative. I'd really like to keep it.

I know, I know..it sounds weird...but it's a part of me that I've had for all of my life, and it would really help me come to terms with my body, and what it's put me through.

I'm not sure how to approach this....*giggling*...and please, don't think I'm a mad sicko or something. I'm not, honest!

I have my wisdom teeth, from when they were removed; my sister has her appendix in a jar - maybe I just come from a strange family.

Any ideas?

Hmmmmm

Tess,

I am quite sure all removed organs must go to pathology.

My doctor did show me my uterus in a container before sending it on.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask . . . please let us know if you are allowed to keep it.

wellllllllllllllllllllllll

Now I have to say that this is a weird request. I have my gallstone, but haven't had the desire to keep the gallbladder I am sure it can't hurt to ask. good luck with that, but I think too that it has to go to path so they can make sure there isn't anything in there. I had lots of cyst and endo, and ando, plus fibroids inside my tubes cervix and both ovaries. They wouldn't have know but they were sent to path and they found them there. God Bless and hope you get to keep that troublesome part.

Weird question.... *giggle*

How about a photograph (or photographs from all angles) as a substiture??

Believe me, you do want the pathologists to have this so they can properly evaluate everything.

Good luck. I do wish I'd had pictures of my insides, too. I'm one of those people who prefers to have visuals of everything.

Weird question.... *giggle*

I couldn't agree more, with all of you

I have pics of my laparoscopy - I even published them online (at www.picturetrail.com/amanita, if anyone wishes to take a peek!). Maybe I will make do with pics this time, too!

I know it'll have to go to pathology, if only to confirm adenomyosis or not...but it's a nice thought, anyway. Ah well...somehow the idea of "bits" of uterus isn't as appealing as the idea of a "whole" uterus...I can't imagine why *grinning*.

Thankyou wonderful ladies for your opinions...as always, you girls rock

to all

Tess
