Last Minute Questions-One Week and Counting!

hi to all i was ok with everything until friday when i found out my surgery date is 5-30-07 now knowing it is only 2 weeks away i am a nervous reck it is a big help knowing i am not the only one i wish you all find peace within and good luck with your surgeries

PMSPrincess-Do you mind me asking why there is a good change yours will be converted? I wish you luck! Hopefully you can stick with the LAVH.
Suezeeque-I already had my pre-op and asked none of these questions. Now I'm really freaking out. I don't want to make a call to ask my doc, so should I just wait till my surgery day? One of my biggest fears is that I will have no pain management when I wake up and be prescribed ibprofen and sent on my way. I really don't think my doc would do that considering I have had numerous surgeries with him in the past, but it's one of those fears that won't go away. I read a couple of stories like these and can't seem to get it out of my head!
Good luck to everyone! I will be praying for all of you on your surgery days! I'll be so happy when we are all on the post-op side telling our stories.

My surgeon thinks there's a good chance of it being converted because of the size of my uterus and the size of my cyst. With my uterus, it may be too large to remove vaginally but they won't know for sure until they try. The cyst, if it appears to have any abnormalities to it when they look at it with the laproscope, they will convert to be safe not to spill the cyst in case it's cancerous. Also, because of my other surgeries, if there are too many adhesions, TAH would be my only route. She wants to try an LAVH to minimize the trauma to my body since this is my 4th surgery but like I told her, I'm fine with either way. Scars don't bother me. Whatever is the best way and I trust her judgement. I can't wait until we're on the other side either, I so hope the next couple of days fly by so I can get it over with! lol
