Abdominal Wall Defect after Hysterectomy

Has anyone else experienced this post hysterectomy?
I buldge on the left side when standing, and it's worse when excercising. They say I need surgery to fix this (using mesh?), but my OBGYN says no need. But my
GP says I should have it repaired. It's ugly & uncomfortable, but I'm not looking forward to more surgery. It's been 8 months since my hysterc.

Did your doctor give you any other details? Is it a tear in the abdominal wall, or has it been weakened from the surgery?

I know when I had my hematoma surgery, they did things in a special way so as not to weaken the abdominal wall, so this is why I'm wondering about the details.

Abdominal Wall Defect after Hysterectomy

That is what I have. I have a bulge and a hard mass. I am going in tomorrow in the morning to have it repaired (with an exploration of the groin to see what is causing me so much pain STILL). It is considered elective, so it is up to you whether to have it repaired. I am in nearly constant pain and moving quickly or sitting in a hard chair for too long is completely out of the question. I am glad to be getting it taken care of. I am having an outpatient procedure so I'll be home by noon and hopefully back to normal within a week to ten days. (Hopeful wishing on my part!!)

Whatever you decide, good luck.

Post Op Abdominal Wall defect

Thanks for responding. I see a doctor next week to get more details. I've had two c-sections, plus this hsyterectomy, so I am not looking forward to more surgery, but this buldge (though not hard or painful) is uncomforatble to sleep on, and I need girdle-support
to get me through the day, or I am in discomfort.
And it is very noticeable in clothes. The "repair" surgeries I've read about on line sound terrible. Infection, adhesions.....ug!
