24 days post hysterectomy: incision pain and discharge; intimacy concerns

I had my hysterectomy august 4th i believe im 24 days post op it was abdominal im still having pain my incision hasnt fully heald tho glue is completely off its got lil discharge at incision site in couple of places staying tired some symptoms almost flu like im gonna go in monday but im trying ease my mind over the weekend also i kept my ovaries i am so worried i wont have the urge for sex again so far ive had no sexual desire i am wondering will i get that spark back when im well and if it dosnt return when should i contact my dr about it or will they over look it since i still have my ovaries

Hi and welcome,

I don't think you should still be leaking from your incision this far out. Does it have an odor? Does it look a little red? Do you have a fever?

I had some leaking, very tiny amount of like 2 drops in the span of 12 hours at 1 week post op and my surgeon quickly put me on antibiotics because even though it wasn't infected yet, it would most likely turn into one and it was easier to treat sooner rather than later.

Monday is a long way off if we're talking about the difference between an infected incision or not. Especially if you're not feeling well. I understand not wanting to go to the hospital on the weekend. Keep it clean and dry until you go on Monday and please, if it gets any worse before then don't wait.

I'm now 2 weeks out and still having pain but it's not burning anymore, it's pressure, some tingling and numbness. I do believe some pain is still to be expected at your stage, certainly if it's leaking.

My incision is red in couple spots no odor but the fluid at incision site is yellow in color no burning but i have sharp pains where the open place is i wash it 3 times a day with dial soap and i recently started putting antibiotic ointment on it hoping that helps til monday only other symptom sleeping alot feeling sore and achy in my muscles
