good doctors, bad doctors???

Does anyone know how to get a history check on a physician? I am new to my area and don't know any way to check out a doctors abilities. I am in the Cleveland Ohio metropolitan area. The only thing I can find so far is a doctor referral service and it seems the only criteria for the doctor to be on that list is if he uses that hospital for his surgeries.
Thanks,
Dianne

Hi Dianne,
I remember reading this in a past post and followed the suggestion myself. Call up the hospital and ask to talk to a surgery nurse. Ask her about the doctor that you may be considering to use. I would assume that you can trust what she has to say about the surgeon.
Good luck!

not sure

I can tell how I found ours. On the internet. I found this hospital page and they had "find a doc" search. I got some information about his training, school etc. Not too much, but better than nothing.
