One week post hysterectomy: Emotions

I am one week post op today. I kept both of my overies, but I feel like an emotional basket case the last two days. I am crying at the drop of the hat. I had to turn the news off because it made me cry. My husband is trying so hard to help, but I fear I am not the greatest patient.
Has any one experienced this too? Or am I just throwing myself a pity oarty

Re: Emotions

I had both ovaries out 12/30/14 then DvTH 6/22 because of the chance of cancer. I feel like I'm up and down 5 times a day. I hope someone replies to this to help us both!

One week post hysterectomy: Emotions

I'm 12 days post op and yes, it's been crazy! But it comes and goes. I have one ovary left but I feel like it's asleep or something. I've had night sweats, hot flashes and hives! The first night in the hospital, I literally cried all night. It got better when I got home. Last night, I was taking to my son about spring break and started crying. Today, I saw my fiance didn't fold the clothes in the dryer (he's been great this whole time) and I got so upset I took a shower and just cried and cried because I felt so overwhelmed. After about 20 minutes, I was back to normal! Everything should balance itself out! I've read your ovaries can stay asleep after surgery for a few weeks.

Re: Emotions

Cwcndsc- I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad!
I'm hoping when we get through the recuperation, we can get our hormones straightened out! I couldn't have HRT after my ovaries were removed because of the chance of cancer. My hysterectomy path came back benign so I'm hoping to get help soon!
My sweet husband helps so much but leaves me home alone for hours at a time to surf. (He's retired) and those hours alone get long.
