Got my surgery date!

Today I was given the date of July 30th. I have daily pain that I take codeine for and was diagnosed with adenomyosis. Can't wait to get it over with and have the pain GONE!!

I feel very alone, though, so this site is really helping. I'm having vaginal hysterectomy, leaving both ovaries. I'm currently separated from my husband (my choice) and my children will go to stay with my mom when I have my surgery. So, I'll pretty much be home alone to recover. I hope I can do the minimum to look after myself. I have friends, etc, but I can never ask for help, much less accept it. I'm stubborn that way.

I'm happy that you got your date and can look forward to taking care of your problems.

I think that it's great that your mom is taking care of your kids for awhile during your recovery. But, maybe you really should consider asking your friends for help the first few days that you're home for recovery. It's really not a weakness to ask for and get help when you need it. Please don't be stubborn - that could be a hinderance for you in this instance. At least let your friends help with cleaning and food and whatever errands that you'll need run at first - DON"T do anything that could hurt you!
