How many post op visits are we supposed to have?

I have a question, as I read the various threads, i see many comments about multiple visits post op. I had my 2 week visit and was told that I would be seen in a year? is that normal???

I have my 2 week today and then 6 week. I thought they had to see us back at 6-8 weeks to "release" us and give us the go ahead to resume normal activity and go back to work. I could be wrong........

It all depends on your doctor. I saw mine at 2 weeks, then 6, but in between at 4 I had to go in for a note to return to work. I also saw him at 4 or 5 mos. for unexpected bleeding, which he used silver nitrate to repair the cuff, then again 3 weeks later so he could check on things. Now I don't see him for a year. There's a wide rangee of normal, Princess. All the best to you, Princess!

I had one at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. I would have only had the first two but I had stitches not healed that she wanted to check again before giving the clear for intercourse.
I have seen others that only had 1 tho. Each doctor is different.

I think that the norm for post op visits is at 2 weeks and then again 6 weeks, depending upon the type of surgery.. I had complications and developed a wound infection so I was going to the doctor everyday for 3 weeks. she saw me again at 4 weeks and I dont have to see her until 6 week post op which at that time I think she will "set me free" providing my wound is closed

I saw mine 1 week after surgery and again in 3 weeks and now she pushed the next one to 4 weeks(June 18th)

I think it depends upon the DR and your own particular case.

I saw my Doctor at 1 week and 4 weeks post op and not again until 6 months.

Unless I have any problems and I call his surgical nurse and if she can answer concerns or she will or I will make an appointment if I need to see him.

Wow, am I the only one who was discharged from the hospital with orders to make a post-op appt in 6 weeks. I hadn't seen my doctor since my surgery over 5 weeks ago. I go next week.

Maybe it's because I was super-glued shut and didn't have staples.

Hey diddly- I was glued too, isn't it great? I went back at 11 days then again at 6 weeks though. He did my bellybutton where he tried LAVH and my TAh, much better than staples or stitches I had w/ c-sections. Much more comfortable - don't you think?

I didn't know they would glue an incision shut. I guess it's no stranger than staples.

I had one appt at one week to get my staples out and then another at 6 weeks. Hopefully he'll release me to go back to work.
