Painful Ovulation

Prior to my surgery on February 29, 2008, every couple of months or so I would have pain when I ovulated. I've been contending with pain on my left side for six days now. Since this is about the time of month I would be ovulating, I'm wondering if that's what is causing my pain.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Painful Ovulation

Hi,
Since you still have your ovaries I would say yes. I too had painful ovulation that is the main reason I had them taken and also because ovarian cancer is hard to detect with no cervix or uterus. I would hurt more when ovulating on the right side but the left was no picnic either. I understand how painful that is. I would say that is what is causing it but call your doctor and get some reassurance from him/her. Good luck

Painful Ovulation

When the doctor asked me if I wanted to keep the ovaries or not cause it was my choice unless when he got in there he found something then he would remove them anyway. I decided because of the painful ovulation that I would have them go bye bye + the fact that I had read post here where the women did not have them taken at the time of surgery and are now back here for problems or issues with them. I asked the doctor if he moved the ovaries would I still have painful ovulation and he said most likely and that was my decision right there. Give them a call but you are still going to ovulate because you have your ovaries still and if it was painful prior it most likely will be after. Good luck!! Call the doc
