sex before surgery?

Hi all. I am scheduled to have a LAVH on thursday. I'm nervous of course. I'm having it because of endometriosis, extremely painful periods, chronic pain, possible endo on bladder and bowel. I have to be at the hospital at 6 in the morning and it is an hour away, so my husband and I are going to stay in a hotel the night before so we don't have to get up so early. My parents are coming to babysit for us. This will be the first night in over two years that we have been anywhere together...especially without children. My question is... does anyone know if its ok to have sex the night before the surgery? We are kind of thinking it will be the last time for a while and since we are going to have a nice evening together....anyway, any comments would be helpful.

First of all, good luck to you, I had a TAH/BSO on 11/11/03 and doing great! I do not think it would be a problem as I was given a Betadine douche (how romantic!) in hospital as part of my pre-op preparations (also an enema). I do not know whether they will give you one as well, but why not enjoy the evening? At least it will take your mind off the operation and might even relax you a bit!
