Vault Smear

Hi Sisters I had a hyst in dec of 2006, had a pelvic exam in 2007 should i get a vault smear in dec 08, one dr said yes one said i dont have to since my pathogy report was ok no problems up to date. I am listening to my sisters so far there were right on tract when i first had all my symptoms they told me exactly what to expect i did them and all was just find.

I will have them. I'm still going to see my dr. each year for breast health - mammograms, and will get them on whatever schedule he recommends for my age. I also had no indications of cancer after the surgery, but did have an abnormal PAP in 2000 for which I needed a LEEP procedure at that time, and it resolved the problem.

Since I have a history of abnormal pap smears and have had a LEEP in the past, my doctor recommends it and I agree with her. Better safe than sorry.
