Strange side effect?

Ok about 10 days out and have noticed that I'm super sensative to smells..some smells are really making my stomach turn. I work at a vet and stopped to say hi to co workers today and the smell of an open bag of dog food had my tummy woosy. Later was at store and a lady's perfume was just about as bad.

Anyone else have this?

Re: Strange side effect?

me too...my oldest son was making beef jerky and the small literally made me throw up. Also noticed my sense of taste was off too- prior to surgery, I was a Diet Coke junkie, now I can't stand the taste of the stuff. Not craving sweet stuff near as much now either...odd! Very welcome changes, but odd!

Re: Strange side effect?

Yep I have noticed a change in tastebuds too.......not craving sweets at all. The added fact that things JUST DON'T TASTE RIGHT.

Re: Strange side effect?

Yeah, things don't taste right for me either.
It can take 30 days fir the general anesthetic to clear our systems - maybe that's the cause?

Re: Strange side effect?

I had this and it passed about week six. It was like my body was trying to keep me away from bad stuff! Lol
I can now eat sweets again, however good or had that is!
I am not finding that I have the super nose any more either.

Re: Strange side effect?

Hmmm.....hadn't thought about the anesthetic. I was relating smells with hormones.....I lost both ovaries.......kinda like smells with hormone change with pregnancy.

Re: Strange side effect?

I found for the first 2 weeks after smells and tastes drove me nuts, I think it was anastesia and pain meds, it was horrible! I hope it gets back to normal soon!
