Re: just came home today in soooooo much pain please help
OK, here's what my doc's nurse said. If you don't drink enough water, everything you take works in reverse! So it'll bind you up rather than flush you out. DRINK!! It took me nearly five days before I finally let it loose. It took a big glass of prune juice/apple juice, also she said All Bran cereal will help. You've got some good advice above, just keep on keeping on, it'll happen...and it may well hurt.

Gas drives ya nuts. I no sooner have a bm then the gas comes back. Hurts to fart too. I'm 1 week in and nuts too. I hope our pain eases up.

Suppository was the way to go for me - literally! I did it two mornings in a row and now finally today things are moving favorably for me. My surgery was Monday and today is Thursday! Best of luck.

I'm glad things are moving now. I can tell you it was the worst when I couldn't pass gas or poop. I still can't pass gas easily. I have to do some of the things you mentioned. I have a BM every day now, but I get pretty crampy. Prayers for a fast recovery for both of us!

Re: just came home today in soooooo much pain please help
hi, dear. I did not poop for 5 days after my surgery, but Miralax was very helpful. You didn't eat before surgery and probably haven't had much of an appetite either. A stool softener will help everything to flow for the next few weeks so you don't have to push. Just don't stray too far from a bathroom. Good luck to you, and you will feel better soon.

From what i read on the posts here, many do not go until five days after. I know i didnt. It is an ongoing issue.
